Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the “sacraments of Christian initiation,” whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”
CCC 1285
This year there have been some adjustments made to the Confirmation Preparation program to be more accommodating to all students and families navigating the multi-faceted year ahead.
Confirmation prep will happen in small groups in the homes of our trained and background-checked leaders. Beginning in October, all Confirmation students will attend the Sunday 9:00 am Mass. Immediately after dismissal, students will head to their small group home location. There, they will meet and follow a curriculum with videos and discussion until 12:00 noon. Any student or family who would prefer to participate virtually this year should please contact Tori LaBelle. In the event that schools move to all online learning, Confirmation prep will also move to an online format. We will keep the same days and times.
