Mercy Alive

The Voices of Mercy
Music has a beautiful way of making God’s Word remain in our hearts. The Catechism of the Catholic Church quotes the famous expression of St. Augustine: “He who sings, prays twice.” Have you ever pondered those words? When we sing, we are participating in something more powerful than spoken language. Harmony and rhythm create an active atmosphere of spirit-filled prayer. Our intention becomes wholly focused on God, and we are able to feel His grace and feed our souls. It is an incredible and humbling experience!

The Mercy Music Ministry strives to provide beautiful and purposeful sacred music to our parish. We have several opportunities available to congregation members that feel called to serve in this special way. Do you play an instrument or have a background in voice? Is your child a songbird in the pew? Ever had the urge to ring a shiny, brass handbell during Mass? Now is the best time of year for joining one of our esteemed ensembles! All choirs are eager to reach out and welcome new members with a passion for music. Please see the descriptions below for details about each group. If God is calling you to serve and become involved in the Music Ministry, I encourage you to reach out to us!

God bless,
Mr. Geoff Kannenberg
