The Advent Season – A Time for Preparation

The Light Is On For You!

“Prepare the way for the Lord,” cried John the Baptist from the desert to the people of his time. As Catholics, we are given the opportunity to heed St. John’s call by readying ourselves for the Lord’s coming during this Advent Season through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Several churches in our diocese, including Our Lady of Mercy, offer this special opportunity to receive the Sacrament by hosting Reconciliation Services through “The Light Is On For You.”

Prepare yourself for this opportunity by learning how to make a good Confession. Start with an examination of conscience, recalling your sins and prayerfully asking yourself what you have done with full knowledge and full consent against God’s Commandments.

Opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at Our Lady of Mercy are from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Wednesday, December 14 and Wednesday, December 21.
