Mother Seton Award

img-alive

Each year, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School seeks to recognize a deserving candidate from our school family to be the recipient of the Mother Seton Award. The Mother Seton Award was created to honor those individuals whose volunteer service and dedication to home, school, and church have been exemplary.

Mrs. Whitney Graves, our 2020 Mother Seton Award recipient, is suited with a “yes” attitude and is always willing to join a committee that benefits her church and school.

Whitney has been involved in many areas of service within our church and school community. She has served as homeroom volunteer; cafeteria helper; school board member; fair committee; Mercy March 5k Chairperson and Co-Chair; Mercy ACTS Core Team Member; Mercy ACTS Retreat Team; Come Lord Jesus Facilitator; and various other roles such as Committed Adorer and set-up for school events.

Whitney, a 1991 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy School, is married to husband, Billy (a 1985 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy School) and has three children –  Marley (Mercy Class of 2019), Ainsley (Mercy Class of 2021), and Ramsey (Mercy Class of 2023).

Mrs. Graves will be honored at a reception along with other Diocesan Mother Seton Award winners. Whitney’s character is the personification of our school’s motto, “Prayer, Knowledge, and Service.” The Mercy Community is pleased to recognize this very deserving Christian woman, who is rooted in strong Catholic values, and has a selfless, humble dedication to our parish.
