Dear Friends of Mercy,

It’s hard for me to believe that I have just begun my fourth year serving as principal of our parish school, and I want to thank all of you for your support and your prayers since I arrived on campus.  It truly is a privilege for me to serve in this role, and my family and I are blessed to be part of the Mercy community.  I also want to thank Fr. Cleo for his tremendous support of our parish school and for his commitment to this most important ministry at Our Lady of Mercy.

Our Lady of Mercy School is flourishing, with enrollment at an all-time high.  We are in a time of great blessing at Mercy, and it is clear that the Lord has big plans for the future of our community.  Each year we invite the parents, grandparents, parishioners and friends of Mercy to prayerfully consider a gift to the school through the Mercy Fund.  Our parish school delivers an outstanding education and provides the spiritual formation our children need to become the men and women that God calls them to be.  The Mercy Fund plays a vital role in our mission, helping the school to provide the best education possible while keeping tuition low.

Gifts made to this year’s Mercy Fund will be utilized in three ways. The first is professional development for our teachers.  We want the women and men working with our children to be trained in best practices, utilizing the very best teaching methods to help our students reach their God-given potential.  Your gifts will provide our teachers with opportunities to attend conferences, workshops, seminars and graduate school programs.  The second goal is to provide the best instructional materials possible, especially instructional technology.  We will continue to utilize iPads, Apple laptop and desktop computers, and Promethean interactive white boards to engage our students in the learning process and to prepare them to be responsible and effective users of technology.  The third goal is to expand our WiFi infrastructure to support the increased volume of technological tools being used in our classrooms as enrollment grows.

Your investment in our parish school this year will have an immediate and significant impact on the children entrusted to our care.  I appreciate your prayerful consideration of a gift to the school this year through the Mercy Fund.  All financial gifts are tax-deductible, and if you designate your gift for instructional technology there is also a substantial state tax credit available for such gifts.  You should have received our school’s annual fund mailing at your home that included a pledge card and return envelope.  You are also welcome to make a gift online through our school’s website at www.olomschool.org.

On behalf of our students and teachers, thank you for supporting our mission through your generosity and for joining us as partners in the extremely important work of Catholic Education at Mercy.

God bless!

Brian Moscona, Principal Our Lady of Mercy School
