With the New Year comes New Resolutions and we want you to grow with us in Worship, Prayer and Service at Mercy. AT ALL MASSES THIS WEEKEND, JANUARY 24-25, YOU’LL BE INVITED TO RECOMMIT TO A MINISTRY, or Scripture study or maybe even try something new in 2015 here at Mercy! In the meantime and as we begin this New Year, we ask that you reflect upon the Mission of our church family –
We are a family of faith united in prayer, love and Catholic tradition. We are dedicated to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ through evangelization, education and Christian example. We strive to be as faithful as the Blessed Virgin Mary and live our faith by serving God, our fellow brothers and sisters, and our community.
Our statement underscores the universal call to holiness and everyone’s vocation to know, love and serve the Father in this world in preparation for happiness with Him for eternity in Heaven.
OUR LADY OF MERCY PARISH HAS SOMETHING FOR YOU this year to share your talents with your brothers and sisters. So many of you are nourished at the beautiful celebrations of holy Mass and hours of Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in our Perpetual Adoration Chapel, you’re encouraged to share the grace you have received and explore other opportunities of learning and prayer. Please review the Stewardship of Ministry and Talent Guide Book that was mailed to you last week as you listen with the ear of your heart to God’s call in your life.
Some of our areas of ministry especially in need of your service are:
Liturgy and Prayer
- Perpetual Adoration – Devoting one hour per week as a committed adorer.
- Mass Usher – Men and women serve weekends and Holy Days
Christian Formation for Children/Religious Education
- Sunday Nursery and Bible Class – Volunteers are needed to serve on a rotational basis babysitting and
teaching preschool age children.
- Parish School of Religion – Teachers and assistants for elementary and high school classes
