MERCY BUILD
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, Christian-based housing ministry that works in partnership with deserving, low-income families and the community to eliminate poverty housing through building simple, decent homes. They help build community by involving diverse religions, social and business groups in the construction of homes and neighborhoods.
The Catholic Coalition Build, in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, kicked off its 30th year with a Blessing of the Build and groundbreaking on a home located in Baton Rouge. The Catholic Coalition Build is sponsored by seven local Catholic Churches including Our Lady of Mercy.
We want you to help us make this house become a home for a deserving family in our community.
Each church has taken on a Saturday or Wednesday to help. On Mercy’s Build Day, which is SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19th and WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd from 7:45 am to 3:00 pm, we’ll be caulking, installing cabinet trim, building a hood box, painting, and more. No experience is required to volunteer, but you must be at least 16 years old to participate.
Come out and earn some “sweat equity” for Mercy’s Build Day. Enjoy the summer weather and strengthen bonds with your church family. Everyone will benefit from this great cause!
