Dear Mercy Families,
It is truly a privilege to serve as the principal of our parish school, and as I begin my first full year in this role I am bursting with joy as we begin a new school year. Thank you for your continued support of this ministry of our parish and our school.
With the continued success of our Traditions for Tomorrow Building Campaign many changes are currently taking place on Marquette Ave. Due to your continued generosity, our classroom complex is currently in the construction phase, with the hope of starting the same process on our new gym in the near future. These two building are essential to allow us to serve the needs of our students.
I am excited to share with you that our enrollment will be at an all-time high once again this year and we have added an additional 4th grade homeroom in order to maintain our goal of class sizes to a maximum of 25 students. This smaller class size enables us to serve our students individual academic needs as we prepare them to become the men and women that God calls them to be.
Currently our plans are to move into the new classroom building in the late spring in order to allow our existing building to be renovated during the summer. This will allow us to remove all the temporary buildings on the north side of campus and create outdoor classroom and play space in that location.
Our theme this year is, “By our works we show our faith.” Our school is poised to educate minds and evangelize hearts. Please continue to keep our students, teachers and parents in your prayers as we embark on this new journey together.
May God continue to bless our Mercy Family. Again, thank you all for your support. God bless all of you as we begin a new school year!
Mr. Chris Porche, Principal
