High School Youth Ministry

Mercy’s High School Ministry facilitates small group discipleship where students can foster a community built on intentional friendships striving for sainthood desiring to deepen their faith, cultivate virtue and root themselves in the firm foundation of their identity as the Lord’s Beloved sons and daughters.

Thursday Night Bible Study

Every Thursday 9th – 12th graders meet in the JPII House from 6:30 – 8:30 pm to study the faith together. Studies have ranged from Sunday Gospel, Scriptural Archetypes, Morality, Virtues, books like Narnia by C.S. Lewis and additional devotionals the Dating Detox by Lisa + Kevin Cotter. We strive to cultivate a space where we can grow in knowledge of the Lord, what our Church teaches and how the Lord is specifically calling us in our daily lives to strive for sainthood.

Please contact Michaelyn McGinnis if you would like to donate pizza, or contribute to our food fund.

Sunday Youth Group

  • 9th-12th graders looking for authentic Catholic friendships and a place to deepen their Faith + understanding of the beauty of our Catholic Faith are invited to join us on select Sundays at 6p Mass and then head into the Parish Activity Center (PAC) from 7:00-8:30pm. We will play a high energy game together, join in a time of fellowship over a meal and then break off into our topics for the semester with our Core Team.

High School Parish School of Religion

High School PSR is open to students grades 8-10 who do not attend Catholic school. PSR is required for a minimum of 2 yrs before receiving a Sacrament.
There are 2 tracks in our PSR program: the children’s program (grades 1-7) is run by Tori LaBelle, Director of Family Life Ministry, and a teen program (grades 8-10), run by Michaelyn McGinnis, Director of Youth Ministry.

Our High School PSR program is in conjunction with our High School Youth Group on Sunday evenings. Their small group will cover the Diocesan requirements for High School PSR curriculum.

Please contact Michaelyn McGinnis if you have any questions about High School PSR.
